Currently with MBIE leading a team within People and Culture, I'm all about delivering amazing experiences, and growing the potential of individuals and organisations. I have also been CEO of the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce and Orchestras Central Trust, a regional manager for English Language Partners and have a background in business development, strategy and change.
I develop and facilitate strategy workshops for the For Purpose Sector as I understand the unique challenges and opportunities that these organisations face, often with limited resources - whether, funds, people and time - and love helping others create meaningful, achievable goals that can form legacies for good! I also deliver corporate training, keynote speeches and motivational workshops. I have been working with people wanting to 'Be their own boss' since 2003, helping identify, shape and execute business plans.
I was in the first cohort for CELF Elevate. This is not just the usual ‘challenging and rewarding’ but also an absolute treasure trove of learning (which I use every day), and amazing connections. I have a long involvement with startup businesses and for 18 years have worked with MSD evaluating business plans for clients - currently all my work is in the Bay of Plenty . I’m passionate about making social enterprises stronger and more resilient, and helping people with great little ideas get started on the road of entrepreneurship. Recent governance appointments included as co-chair the Pirongia Community Association, and governance advisor and Chair mentor for the Waikato Refugee Forum. Currently, I'm co-chair of CELF, and chair of Showing Waikato, and am a Community Engagement lead for Making Rail Work. (Formerly known as TRON, which I was a proud co-founder of).
I hold a Bachelor of Applied Business (Distinction) and am currently studying towards a Post Grad Certificate in Executive Coaching.
In my spare time enjoy spending time with friends and family, and discovering great food and coffee around NZ. I manage a clutch of websites (www.pirongia.org.nz | www.wrf.org.nz) and social media pages, and until recently was sole editor and writer for the Pirongia Village Voice since starting it over 15 years ago. I have also written four educational (but fun!) shows for kids that are performed with a full orchestra - check out my last creations here .
I describe myself as a 'connector of people' and believe I bring passion, integrity and energy to the organisations I work with.
